Peach green tea: ripe fruit without an oversteeped base
Cool the green tea before blending it with peach flavor and taste the final drink over ice.
Brew the tea with care
Green tea needs attention to water temperature and time, as specified by the package. Very hot water and a prolonged steep can produce a harsh base that fruit cannot fully disguise. Brew the tea separately and remove the leaves or bag at the intended point. Let it cool before assembling the drink so ice is not forced to absorb all of the heat.
Let the peach determine sweetness
Fresh peaches, peach nectar and a homemade fruit mixture differ in sweetness and texture. Use the form in the recipe and taste it before adding another sweetener. Ripe fruit may provide enough roundness on its own. If blending or straining fruit, decide how much pulp you want in the glass; a thick puree creates a different drink from a clear peach-flavored tea.

Balance one glass first
Combine a small sample and taste with ice. Lemon can brighten a muted peach flavor, but too much turns the drink into citrus tea with a faint fruit note. Add honey or syrup in small amounts only after checking the tea and fruit together. Stir thoroughly so the top and bottom of the glass do not have different sweetness.
Keep the presentation simple
A thin peach slice can identify the flavor without filling the glass with fruit that is awkward to eat. Chill the mixed drink and keep it refrigerated until serving. Stir again if fruit settles. COOK IT AT HOME
Peach Green Iced Tea
Peach flavor is prepared as a quick fruit mixture while the green tea receives a short, cooler steep. Keeping those steps separate prevents the tea from over-extracting while the fruit softens. Ripe peaches provide the best aroma; their sweetness varies, so the sugar quantity is intentionally moderate.

Ingredients
- 2 ripe peaches, 300 g flesh, pitted and chopped
- 30 g granulated sugar
- 100 ml water for peaches
- 3 green tea bags
- 600 ml hot water at about 175°F/80°C
- 200 ml cold drinking water
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 200 g ice cubes
Step-by-step method
- Put peaches, sugar and 100 ml water in a small saucepan. Simmer gently for 6–8 minutes until soft, stirring occasionally. Mash with a fork and strain through a sieve into a pitcher, pressing lightly for juice.
- In a separate heatproof jug, steep green tea bags in 600 ml water at about 175°F/80°C for 2–3 minutes, or follow the tea package if it specifies a different temperature. Remove bags without squeezing.
- Combine the tea and peach liquid, then add 200 ml cold water and lemon juice. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour until cold.
- Divide ice between four glasses, stir the pitcher and pour. A little peach sediment is normal; stir again between servings.
Helpful tips & substitutions
- Frozen unsweetened peach slices can replace fresh peach flesh by weight. Thaw them in the refrigerator first.
- Do not boil green tea with the peaches. The longer cooking time required by fruit is not appropriate for delicate tea leaves.
Storage & make-ahead
Refrigerate covered at 40°F/4°C or below for up to 2 days. Store without ice.
How to serve it
Serve with a cheese pastry, vegetable sandwich or afternoon snack. The fruit supplies the main sweetness rather than a heavy flavored syrup.
